Announcement: My Cross-Stitches and Patterns are Now Available to Purchase on Etsy!!
Hello my lovely readers!
I am beyond excited to announce that my cross-stitching and patterns are now available on my new Etsy shop: Stitch-A-Stitch!!
For right now, the items available for sale are completed items, hooped into 3 inch hoops. They are either regular emoticons in black or bi pride emoticons in the bi pride colors. There is also one bi pride item that is simply the word “BI” in the bi pride colors. The pattern available for sale is one I designed to gift to a friend for Christmas. It is of the Sriracha rooster bottle. I couldn’t find one anywhere, so I designed one myself, and I thought it made sense to make it available for 
others! As time goes on, I plan to broaden the items I have available. The next category I am working on at the moment is the Avengers as pixel people.
The positive feedback I received here on this blog from you all encouraged me to pursue opening this shop. Thank you all so much for your support, and I do hope you will take a moment to check it out.
Cross-Stitch #5: Dinosaur Love
The largest cross-stitch I made to gift for the holidays was for my partner, naturally. I thought these dinosaurs in love were too cute to pass by! I also chose to use my bf’s favorite colors for the color scheme: red, orange, and yellow.
Cross-Stitch #4: The Molecular Structure of Chocolate Christmas Chocolate Box
After making the Avengers logo and pixel Thor, I got to change things up a bit for my present for my partner’s mother. She teaches chemistry at a community college and loves chocolate (who doesn’t), and so I thought a stitch of the molecular structure of theobromine (chocolate) would be a fun present.
I found a variety of patterns of theobromine online and repurposed them to my own pattern. When I finished, I discovered that my completed design was too big for my hoop (I didn’t think my plan through), so instead, I attached it to the cover of a Christmas box. It’s now a nerdy box for Christmas chocolates.
Cross-Stitch #3: Pixel Thor
As I mentioned previously, I made a bunch of smaller cross-stitch projects as presents for various folks for the holidays.
My partner’s littlest sister (she’s 20, but still the littlest one of the family) is a big fan of the Avengers. But I’d already done the Avengers logo for my friend, and I wanted a new pattern. I get bored easily, what can I say. I decided to focus on one of the Avengers solo instead, and after narrowing down to her two favorite Avengers (after some intense Facebook-stalking), I chose Thor.
I found a pattern on Pinterest for making the Avengers out of post-it notes that I thought would easily translate into cross-stitch. And it did! Adorably so, if I do say so myself.
Cross-Stitch #2: Avengers Logo
I’ve been working most of the year on a very difficult cross-stitch pattern, which is why I haven’t posted a completed one since last December. But I decided to make a few simpler ones as presents for various folks for the holidays.
One of my friends is a big fan of the Avengers (and comics in general), so when I saw this pattern available for free on The Happy Hooker’s blog, I knew I had to make it for her.
The thread I used was silky, so it ended up having a subtle, almost silk-screened effect. I was really happy with the result!
Cross-Stitch #1: Pixel People Wedding Present
I took up cross-stitching again this summer after giving up on knitting (or crocheting for that matter). I’m pleased to say that in just a few short months, I’ve finished my first project! Because this was a wedding present, I needed to put aside my other project for a bit to work on it, so this stitch actually only took me about two weeks to complete. Impressive, yes?
My good friends, Lynn Marie and Josh, were getting married, and I spotted a custom pattern on Etsy at the shop, Wee Little Stitches, that will turn the happy couple (and their pets if you like) into pixel people. It seemed like the perfect gift for the happy, geeky couple, so I went for it!
It was a very exciting project because it was my first time assembling the pieces myself instead of buying a kit. It was so much fun to go gather everything at Michael’s! It was also the first stitch project I’ve ever actually completed. As a child I learned a lot of stitches on a challenging pattern, but never actually finished it. So lots of firsts here!
Up next, I plan on finishing up my wolves in the snow kit, then on to a pattern designed for me by my bf (for Christmas). Yay!
